Default Looking for new homeowners insurance in Seminole County

Hello All,

Just signed a purchase agreement on a new townhome in the Oviedo area and am currently pricing insurance. I did a query on Insweb and Quicken and got hit up by a few companies that I don't know that much about: HomeWise, ASI Assurance, and Tower Hill. ASI Assurance seems to have the best rates and also the lowest deductible for hurricane insurance, but I don't know much about the company. Anyone have any opinions on them or any of the other two I listed?

Also, has anyone in the area had any luck securing a new homeowners insurance policy from any of the "big name" companies? (Allstate, State Farm, Nationwide, Liberty Mutual)? You can't get a Florida quote online by any of these, and I haven't gotten a chance to call them directly. Are they even writing any new policies?

Allstate also sells St. Johns. Ask a local agent if they are selling new policies in your area.

Check this out...it may help. They have two ways to register.. as a charter member for $10 or for free. Everyone in the state should go and register. It can save them 25% off insurance or more. and no im not in the insurance business I just think homeowners need a break and there are too few in regards to insurance.
