Exactly.

I'd want that sort of isolation I think. After living in FL. To be able to get away and have that kind of scenery to wake up to would be incredible.

I'm familiar with Mission Health, but I'm also familiar with patients who needed surgery and had to go to Charlotte or Chapel Hill even for care.
Not everyone's medical conditions are conducive to being more than 30 min away from a hospital.

Also note that any delay in care could lead to lack of oxygen. Being in the mountains and oxygen deprived already... I've witnessed bad outcomes in patients who have had care delayed. Everything from home births to stroke to cardiac arrest. Just food for thought for some people is ask I'm saying.

You love Asheville, please go enjoy it. You won't sell me on it. But I'm also not sold on Florida either if that helps you sleep at night!

True... But coming from Montreal, which is essentially a mountain itself, I can sure appreciate the flat landscape of FL... The steep hills become a hassle of their own after a while.

Don't have to worry about all us moving up there......it is cold up there from Nov-March or April........roads get icy, can be steep, and have lots of curves that the natives in that area can't seem to stay on their side of . And some of the worst ones are family. Have to say Autumn is awesome up there though when the leaves are at their peak. Great plaace to visit, but would not want to live there.

I'm so glad not all of FL will move up there

So pretty much 9 months of awesome weather. Cold from Nov thru March. I remember those days... highs in the 40s and sometimes 50s....... Brrrrrr..... Yes, roads can be steep, it is mountainous in Asheville. Beautiful views. Causes back roads to be steep at times. Rather than flat and laid out like a grid.

I'll take 3-4 months of "cold weather" (by the way, Asheville's climate is the definiton of mild temps). Plus, I'll take cold weather and snow! Heat and humidity get old, quick.
