As far as Lake Nona being expensive, how long has it been since you've checked out prices in the area? Prices have been dropping in that area and I'd say are on par with Oviedo, cheaper than winter park, and only marginally more expensive than Winter Springs.....depending on price range they are looking in of course. Lake Nona isn't a city, it is within Orlando, searching for it just look at Narcoosee road between hwy 528 and the 417. Zip codes 32832 or 32827. Avalon Park is starting to have a few crime issues further North but is still very nice on the south end. Waterford lakes area is right next door and may also be worth a look. Both area's are in the 32828 Zip code. If you could tell us all what your monthly payment range is we could narrow things down quite a bit. |

I would suggest that you rent for a few months in the area that you think you might like and wait it out for a good deal ( there are alot of them out there right now)I know of good school didtricts on the nw side of Orlando but I do not know about the southside and Davenport but you can look on craigs list for rentals . Because you can look at numbers all day but you never really know how you are going to like it.Give your husband and yourself time to find which areas you like by driving through some in your off time. You can do a 7 months rental and some in the Kissimmie area are monthly. Good luck and he will love Lockheed Martin

Again I say, if you're looking for reasonable prices, check out Conway in 32812. It puts you near the 408, not a bad commute going east toward Lockheed. The median price for a 3/2 is around 175,000. Good schools (Dover Shores/ Lake George Elem., Conway Middle, Boone High) good and established neighborhoods, close enough to everything without feeling like your in the midst of an overbearing metropolis.

Agreed, I used to live on 436 and Michigan and I paid to break my lease at the apartments there because kids were randomly bashing car windows and don't forget your friendly neighborhood chopper with that crazy spotlight, it will make an appearance frequently! That neighborhood has always been bad. |

No, Mis-t is right about that particular area. You're speaking about 436--a different area just east of Conway Road. Also check out conwaynews.com. Do stay away from 436, but 32806 near the lake and 32812 west of Conway Road are nice areas. Conway homes in the 32806 area near the lake are a little older homes surrounded by lots of trees with boat ramp access. Lawyers and other professionals who work downtown live in the nicer neighborhoods in that area.

Wow, I wasn't getting any messages stating there were replies until this last one.
Things have been insane here. The selling realtor came over on the 2nd and we were going non stop until this past Sat getting the house ready for the market. That included painting, staging and fixing things that we knew had to be fixed, but never got around to them. But it is ready and now all we have to do is the daily upkeep for showings on a moments notice. And I must say that is a pain too with 2 kids, but I'm doing it. We have to wait to see what happens with this one before we make any decisions for when we're going to move. But I am still looking and hoping And I am keeping all of your advice in my head and on my pro/con list ![]() slk10 Thanks for the offer, but we want to buy. Lockheed is only going to pay for one pack & move on this job and I don't want to have to do it again when we're ready to buy. I've done it 7 times in the past 12 years and that was w/o my boys. Don't ever want to have to do it with them But thanks again for the offer. |
