Hello,

My husband has the opportunity to relocate to Orlando - and we are more than ready to leave the Minnesota winters behind!! It's also perfect timing for us - we have nothing tying us down in MN, we don't have kids yet, my job (and both our incomes) will move with us, and it's something we really want to do! We need to be fully established by February 1, 2016, but would prefer to be settled by January 1, 2016 (or sooner).

Since we will both be working from home most of the time, we have the pro (and kind of the con!) of being able to live pretty much anywhere. We have friends in the area who relocated to Orlando several years ago. They have suggested we look at Windermere, Davenport, Clermont, and Celebration.

We'd lke to rent/lease for at least the first 6 months. Are there realtors who deal with rentals and could help us find a place we like prior to our move? I know coming down there and spending time looking on our own would be ideal, but I'm not sure that will be feasible with everything we will need to take care of here.

Does anybody know a realtor they can recommend?

Thanks!

We realize it's a little crazy to look for a realtor on an online forum...but if there's anybody who can suggest ways to approach finding a rental property from afar, we'd really appreciate that!

Also, we are looking to spend around $1500/month for a 2 bedroom/1 1/2 bath apartment or townhouse. Is this realistic for the areas we've started looking at? I've found plenty of large complexes online, but have no idea if they are as nice as they appear to be.

I don't really think you need a realtor if you're doing an apartment, just do your research. If you are interested in renting a single family home, you can go to www.myfloridahomesmls.com and narrow search to rentals in your price range. It will give you an idea of what is available in what price ranges in which areas.

Awesome, thanks! We've never used a realtor to rent before, but we've also never moved across the country so I don't necessarily know what's normal. I'll check out that site!
