I would look at the downtown neighborhoods- downtown/Lake Eola, Thornton Park, College Park, Audubon Park, Winter Park and Delaney Park. These would all be gay friendly (most of Orlando is).

I'm in California as well, but previously lived in Orlando and a couple other cities in Florida. I'll be moving back to Orlando end of December or early January for good though. You will love the prices here lol.

Besides being gay-friendly, what else do you want? The downtown area like brink mentioned are probably the most gay-friendly parts of Orlando. However, you could also venture to Dr. Phillips or Winter Park as well in case you don't like the downtown atmosphere.

Enjoy!

Congrats on your move! As stated by PP, Downtown Orlando is generally the most gay friendly area in the region.. I would highly recommend Thornton Park, this is one of the most vibrant and up and coming neighborhoods in Orlando, it is very popular among artists, young adults, and the LGBT community which has a big annual Pride Festival throughout downtown.
