Our son is moving to Orlando in December. We are thinking of setting him up in a large RV at an RV Park. We have compared the costs and the price is the same as apartment living with similar or better amenities and safety factor. We are also interested in MMI success stories.

Hi, I'm a soldier who is currently deployed in iraq. I'm looking to go to MMI when i get back to the states, Sept09. I was wondering if anyone knows how well MMI works with the GI Bill. Also i think i saw a program where you can agree to work for a company after you graduate and they will ay for MMI upfront? Does anyone have information on either subject? Thx!
Oh one more question, when does the MMI school year start is it broken up into semesters, quarters?

From what I know from the recruiter new classes start every six weeks or so. Students attend varying lengths of time depending on how many certifications they want (Honda, Harley Davidson etc...). So there are no summer breaks.

My husband is an MMI graduate of 2003 and loved it. He has a real passion for motorcycles and this school was a great fit for him. He was hired right out of school by Daytona Harley Davidson and then moved on to another dealership when we got engaged. He is currently a master tech and makes about $40 k a year. His current dealership will only hire MMI graduates, no other graduates from other programs. He really loves being a mechanic and got a great education at MMI.

Had friends who went to both. Not surprisingly, the one who was more "on the ball" has done much better than the one who was a bit more "relaxed" in his approach to the job market.

I'm not qualified to give an opinion on either school, but both guys agreed that both were excellent. One friend is making about $68k at a HD shop, but he was a real gear head with lots of experience before he went to school. He really just needed the cert.

Good luck!

This comment is based solely on the opionion of the poster: I am a parent who is VERY disappointed with this VERY expensive school. In my opinion, they certainly don't help with problems and I have not found them at all attentive to what I feel are very important matters. If you spend a lot of time going through what a google search brings up, you will find several unhappy/disappointed former students. Wish I would have researched it more in depth before signing on with them. What a let down....and an expensive one at that. Whatever you do,do not believe all the hype the recruitor feeds you. We were very satisified until it came to a point where they have repeatedly refused to address a problem that we have. They attempt to drive home the point of being professional, yet when addressed about a concern they have exhibited everything but professionalism.

I said this in the previous post: We were very satisified until it came to a point where they have repeatedly refused to address a problem that we have.

What I meant to say was this: We were (and still are) very satisfied with our sons performance and somewhat satisfied with the school as a whole except that we noticed many things the recruiter told us that actually were not true. We were willing to let those things just ride, then it came to a point where they have repeatedly refuse to deal with a problem that we are asking them to deal with.

I didn't realize how that came out in the first post until i read it today and thought that it was important to correct that.

Default Thanks

First of all thanks for asking the question... I am about to submitt my paperwork and deposit. Mid life career change (not by choice-my job was eliminated while out on short term disability- had to find out through a friend of a friend that I was no longer employeed, no letter, no phone call....ok...off the subject). Love bikes.. Doctors finally gave me thumbs up for 5 hours a day...enough for school. Was just worried about the rather large investment...I know I am not going to get rich.. just want to be able to pay off student loans and basic bills when I get out. It's good to hear about school... maybe I need to read more responses...but who has landed a job and was it Harley, Kawi, Honda...and at least a ball park pay range. Looking at starting in next 4 months.. will be taking night class, willing to share apartment but... I don't smoke, drink or do drugs- 42 years old. I value my sleep. My medical condition is not contagious.. I have had Crohn's disease for 35 years. So... Serious, no bs goal oriented, hard working, clean, honest roommates would be considered...possible share garage for bikes..hope you ride. Hit me up with answers and possible roommates..
Thank you
John C
