And as I mentioned before, it doesn't count all the people who are seriously injured who don't actually die. Many, many more of those. Last weekend 6 dead, 23 injured. Ridiculous.
Similar to most large urban areas -- even here... The active crime zones can be easily avoided for the most part. One has no reason whatsoever to stroll around on Parramore/Westmoreland at night, for instance.

Yes, agreed. In due time it will. But as it is right now, it's still the pits.

All the gentrification is doing is pushing people out of one area and shoving them into the next, making places like John Young and Oakridge even worse than they were previously.

According to the US Census and the US OMB the Orlando MSA consists of the counties of Lake, Orange, Osceola and Seminole. Nothing in Brevard County is part of the Orlando MSA, including Merritt Island.

The murder rate in Chicago is about black young men killing each other. Orlando has a very high rate that isn't attached to minority / gang killings.
The rate of crime in Orlando is quite high for the Mickey Mouse metro and all you have to do is watch the first 10 Minutes of local news!

What kind of Gangs are in Orlando? Most drug addicts sell their cars to feed their habit I would think.

The "gangs" of today are multi million businesses based on criminal activity, drugs, prostitution, dealing in stolen goods, car theft, weapons trafficking, human trafficking, murder for hire, extortion to name a few.

The "gangs" of today are run under strict rules and many have thousands of members nationally.

Nope. Gangster Disciples, Latin Kings, Aryan Brotherhood, Bloods, Crips, Five Percenters, Jamaican Posse, La Familia, La Raza, Skinheads, Sur-13, Warlocks, Warrior Brotherhood, Outlaws, and a couple dozen more.
