So, as I am searching for homes in the Orlando area, I have read many negative posts about OBT. Now I know that this is a widespread topic, but I have a question on this subject. Is OBT just generally bad everywhere, or are most people speaking about a specific section. The reason I ask is because OBT travels quite long through Orlando from north to south and I frequent Orlando quite often. I have been on OBT in several areas and I don't think it's so bad, but I don't know if that's just how it looks on the surface. So I would like to know if there are particular areas of OBT that everyone is talking about so I can map it out and avoid it. Thanks!

One thing that is good and bad at the same time about Orlando is that many areas are kept up really well. That can lead to areas appearing to be safer and higher value than they really are. The only parts of OBT that I can think of that might be good are the Orlando Country Club near downtown and the south side of the county in a neighborhood called Hunters Creek.

OBT cuts through most bad parts of Orlando: Paramore, Westmoreland, Oak Ridge, that **** part of John Young, to name a few. Yes, it's a long road, but for as long as it extends, it's pretty ****ty. Look away from OBT.

For the most part the entire thoroughfare is pretty depressing.

Live in Dr Phillips. You really aren't that far away from sand lake or the 528 to get to the obt

I have always been curious about OBT as well. I think it has a rep for being the red light district of the metro, but the question is where. What is the heart of this mysterious area?

I drew up my perspective of the stretch.
The entire area is iffy, with yellow being somewhat OKAY. The darker the worst. I'm sure most will agree. If anything, I'm being lenient with the stretch of dark.

OBT has 77 meanings. Which one are you talking about. First thing I learned in accounting is to not use shortened words.

Thanks for the picture. I figured this was the area most were speaking about. These are actually some of the areas that I have travelled through and didn't really see them as so bad. Not saying they look like the most desirable places to live, but I have seen much worse. Now I haven't traveled these areas at night, so I know that could change the perspective a little. Is it not so desirable because of the prostitution and possible drugs or is it known for a lot of crime and murders?

I mean it's obvious that since I am in an Orlando forum asking about safety and talking about my house search that I could only be talking about Organically Bound Tritium! I mean what other OBT would I be talking about in this specific moment?
