You can always fun entertaining things for kids. Take them to the YMCA and let them join a soccer team or basketball team. Let them do something outdoorsy where they can meet new people and friends and in meeting new people, they'll find new fun stuff to do. Orlando is awesome for kids, because it's so much fun. You can take them to downtown Disney and just walk around... buy them some icecream at ghiradellis or go to twistie treets. You can do the themepark thing, but that's not like an everyday thing.
If you decide to go the themepark route, check out the Orlando Welcome center... they can get dicount tickets. You can even get discount themed dinner shows (like arabian nights or or medival times) which the kids would love. There website is http:Discount Disney Tickets - Walt Disney World Tickets - Florida Tickets or just give them a shout at (407)641-5436. You can also check out the news station. They have local events for adults and kids that are pretty cool. I'm not sure how old the kids are but they have orienteering... which is where they leave you out in the woods and have to try to find your way back with a compass and whatever they give you. Central Florida News 13 - Entertainment Man... you can go camping and just play sports and run around with kids in your neighborhood. I don't think kids can get bored living here. It's when they get older, that boredom becomes a problem. |

My favorite thing to do lately is get up early on Sat morning & visit the Farmers Market in Winter Park with a friend. Their fresh vegetables, baked good, cheeses, breads are wonderful & the choice of plants for my yard are great too. Along the way we stop at yard sales & find some great buys.
My sister (who is an art teacher) visited me at Christmas. We went to the Morse Museum to see the Tiffany exhibits. It was my 3rd visit & I enjoy it just as much each time. It's in Winter Park too. The Farmer's Market is free, except for what you purchase of course. And the Morse Museum is only a few dollars & is even free one night a week, Friday I think. Also if you like flea markets & hunting for antiques, Webster on Monday mornings is a lot of fun. I live close by the West Orange Trail which is great for both adults & kids. You can end your ride in Downtown Winter Garden & eat lunch there. There are so many fun things to do in the Orlando area. But it's just like living anywhere else--you have to research, ask & explore the area to find them. You can find out more about all these places by googling on the internet. |

I agree this has to be a joke,if you can't find things to do in Orlando then you won't find them anywhere. There's some negativity here towards theme parks, I'm 32 years old and it's my favorite activity out there, theme parks, waterparks are obviously #1 in Orlando as far as things to do but I agree that many of the other things mentioned here are also good ideas.
