Default Pre-school near Thornton Park?

Hi there,
My wife and I moved up from Miami last week where our eldest daughter was enrolled in an excellent pre-K program where they offered lots of activities to keep the kids interested.
Does anyone have any recommendations for preschools in the downtown Orlando area, preferably within walking distance of Thornton Park?
All the best,
Tish and Ben.

There is a great one that is just off Hyer street. Called Hyer Street Skool.

Location: 407 North Hyer Avenue, Orlando, FL 32803
Phone: 407.841.9030
Hours: Mon-Fri 7am-5:30pm

My better half works there, and has nothing but good things to say.

Default pre-school question

Hi, What would the minimum age be for a pre-school, esp. the one on Hyer.
We are from London and moving to Thornton Park in September so I'll need all the advice I can get! The only thing the same here in Orlando as in London is the language, I feel a bit like a fish out of water! Any other advice regarding living in Thornton Park would be greatly received. Thanks.

I don't know what age you're looking for, but Lake Highland Prep has an outstanding PreK program starting at age 4. You can find them on the web.

I love the central area of Orlando where Thornton Park is. It is very convenient to shopping, dining, nightlife, and many urban amenities. Being that it is an older part of the city, a lot of the homes were designed with more charm and integrity than the newer homes in the suburbs. If this area is not urban or trendy enough, Orlando is probably not the city for you. The only concern I would have is that you are so close to downtown in a highly trafficked area, that the level of crime may be higher than a neighborhood like this would normally have.

Not sure exactly the minimum age Hyer Skool takes is, but it's pretty young. Check out their website hyerstreetskool.com
