Default Dogs and Orlando

I am moving soon to Orlando and would like to know some pet friendly places where I can take my dog! What beaches do most people take dogs to/ which ones are pet friendly? ( I realize I have to drive like an hour or so to the coastline) Any information is greatly appreciated!
Thanks !

where in orlando are you?! there is an awesome dog park called fleet people's park. it's in winter park... it's got a lake and beach area and a wooded area to walk on a path it's pretty cool

and there is also one in casselberry called pawmosa it's off of 17-92.... i haven't been to this one yet but i hear it's nice

then there is another one on colonial drive aka 50..... but by far i love fleet people's park it's so beautiful if you search for it on google i'm sure you'll find the directions.... as of dog beaches I'm not too sure if they really have dog beaches in FL just because of the sea turtle nests....

there are also some places downtown that are also pet friendly to go eat outside with your dogs... there is this cool little bbq place called wildside and they're pet friendly and the SPCA does this yearly paws in the park walk where there are a lot of activities and freebies it was just last weekend but they'll have one last year it was a lot of fun and that was at lake eola downtown... email me if you wanna know anymore... and By the way where are u moving from?

There's a dog beach in New Smyrna and Anesthasia Island. There's a good dog park in Sanford and downtown Sanford has restaurants with outdoor patios that are dog friendly.

i live in lake mary, and it takes me 40min. to get to the new smyrna beach area to bring my dogs. the place where you can bring them on new smyrna beach is right before the coast guard station Smyrna Dunes. i used to live over in NSB and go whenever I can!

Don't try to take your pup to the beach in Brevard County. (You might see signs in Orlando about the Space Coast, Cocoa Beach is the closest beach to Disney, blah blah blah....anyway, if it's directly east of Orlando and on the ocean, it's Brevard.)

Our idiot local paper, Florida Today, spearheaded laws to ban dogs from the beach years ago....like back in the 60's, I think.

Love living here, but there isn't much that is dog friendly in this county.

New Smyrna has a dog friendly beach and it is about an hour from Orlando. It's a state park I believe. There are a few dog parks in the area as well. We prefer the Paw Park in Sanford as it has been ranked nationally but there are a few parks that are pet friendly as well. There are dog-friendly events as well. Last weekend was Paws in the Park in downtown Orlando on Lake Eola. There was a walk to benefit the local SPCA and lots of dog-friendly vendors like sitters, trainers and natural dog food companies.
