Which would you recommend? New transplant here looking for recommendations. Need to establish with a primary care physician for annual physicals etc., no medical issues... I know the US News Rankings put FH above OH, and I'm aware of the Adventist identity of FH (I'm not Adventist and not really interested in the religious convictions of my doctors) just want best quality care....

Any recommendations/ rationales welcome!

Orlando Health. Without a doubt. Some may have different opinions, but for me, with my (and family's) visits to both, Orlando Health has BY FAR been a better organization.

Thanks for the responses so far as well as the previous thread. I have already read that thread which focuses more on employment at one or the other or how the Adventist identity impacts the experience.

Interesting that so far more people vote Orlando Health. I'm curious why? I'm actually leaning in that direction mostly due to theological dissonance with Adventism (which I know may not mean anything in terms of quality of care, but nonetheless adds a "layer" to things I'd rather not have to think about if I'm ever ill).

Other reasons yay or nay for either are so much appreciated!

They have more focused specialty care. Cancer center is affiliated with UF, they have only level 1
Trauma center, only children's hospital in the downtown area (nemours is in lake nona), and, until recently, the only women's hospital

Most of the above advice is irrelevant. Depending on what organ you are having transplanted, you should research the individual transplant surgeon and their success rates, not the hospital system. The hospital will not be performing the surgery.

Good point. I'm also researching a PCP and if I find a good fit, it won't matter which hospital he/she is housed at...

I have found the level of expertise and care superior at Orlando Health and cannot say enough for their Trauma/ER unit at the main campus in downtown Orlando in particular. Everyone I met from the RNs to the varying Techs and staff MDs are compassionate and very obviously dedicated to what they do.
