Anyone have a favorite?
I'm trying to get a better idea of house rentals in the area. Craigslist is nice, but perhaps too spammy, with many of the same listings posted over and over. Thanks! |

I would recommend Rent.com/rentclicks.com Not a big fan of craigslist to be honest. The only problem with these is they only show listings advertised on them. I would recommend they are a good source for getting pricing ideas, but when you look in earnest i would recommend using a realtor as well as searching the web because we can source properties which may not have been listed. It doesnt cost you anything at the end of the day.

Actually, most of us realtors can send you a email of some rentals in various neighborhoods. Ask any I'm sure you can find some more ideas. If you can have an area, max price range and size in mind it m,akes the search easier. There are hundreds of rentals in the MLS at any given point. Like with people buying homes there is no charge for an agent to assist you. The owners pay for us.
I do like Rent.com otherwise. I have advertised some of my rentals there. but I have also found Craigslist useful but it is harder to sort through the crap there. a simple rule of thumb, if there aren't photos don't waste your time. Sure a few nice ones may slip through but more nasty will be avoided. Good luck on the search. |

I thought there would be more people posting their thoughts here.
I guess I should retitle this thread, "Will I get stabbed if I live in Orlando?" for more attention. |

Where abouts are you looking into renting? How many bedrooms etc?
There are some good deals out there right now, due to the market being so dead. |

I am looking for that, too!! one place to check before renting is the orlando sentinel murder map and the sex offenders registry. the link below is MUCH easier to use than the other way i was searching before. it will show you a map of the area around whatever address you input of all the sex offenders! very handy.
Florida Offender Alert System the murder map shows you for 2007 where the murders occured and also for thru march i think for 2008. that's pretty up to date and it's easy, but it was hard to find off the website for some reason. good luck! |
