Heard that Chili's is no longer coming to Poinciana as promised. Does anyone out there know what went down? Is it the developer who is ruining it for folks who live here with infrastructure since there is a ton of land to warrant new businesses.

Default Chilis/Poinciana

The spokesman for Avatar, Tony Iorio, said they lost their deposit after they decided not to go ahead w/the project on a forum. Heard that Starbuck's is not heading out to Poinciana. They are afraid the demographics won't support the restaurant etc, which I find ludicrous. Looks like there will be oodles of Wendy's, Mickey-Dees, Taco Bells out there. So sad.

It is a shame. Where ever there is a low income or minority area, fast food or Chinese resturants end up there. America will never change.

Do you have a link to the forum where this was posted?

Can't find anything about it in the forums I go to.

Bah, if we don't get a chili's and a starbucks, we'll probably get a couple of banks in their place.

Unfortunately, it is on a private forum. Sad but true story. They were to close on the deal & pulled out that day. Doubtful that Starbucks will enter the town now since they are cutting back. Just fed up w/the lack of roads, decent shopping & restaurants and having to drive 30 miles to get anywhere decent...

Well, that's really too bad if it doesn't go through.

Oh believe me, it isn't going through. If Restaurants aren't coming, why would people think a hospital will....

Sooner or later it will all have to come together.
Avatar is just ruining alot of chances for great things!
We should already be are own town, have these commercial shops and a hospital, for crying out loud we deserve it!
I hate having to go out of my way to go out any where and you know the frist busniess out here are making money just because people are to lazy to drive 30 minutes.
Poinciana has grown and its time that everyone realizes it.

Poinciana is an unincorporated area. What do you all think was going to happen when you moved there?
