Hello,
I live and work in Puerto Rico. I want to relocate to Orlando. Searching for jobs as a Systems Analyst, Programmer/Analyst, or in similar areas of Information Technology. Any suggestions, places I could search? Any local info. I should need to be aware of? Any suggestions of good companies to work for? Thanks for your help. |

On Friday April 18th thru Sunday April 20th, the Orlando/Orange County Convention Center will be holding it's annual Hispanic Expo. It will be an international event with Latinos from the Caribbean, South and Central America, and Spain. If you want more info, here are the websites:
Hispanic Business and Consumer Expo, Orlando, Florida Orange County Convention Center When you see calendar, stroll to April. So when you visit Orlando, I hope you find a job. |

Hi I used to be a programmer here...
But seriously...lots of Orlando employers use head hunters for IT and Developer work. There has been some more direct hiring but you must also be in the recruiter's database. Try Dice.com, CareerBuilder, OrlandoJobs.com, Monster.com. When you see ads that look like head hunters and not the hiring company directly get the name of the company and put it into google to find their website. Call up the company directly and talk to a recruiter for your skill set and get into their database. If you find a direct hire job on the website go ahead and apply. In my experience it was difficult being taken seriously by direct hire companies when I was moving here so I suggest you have a good answer for not already being in the area when the topic comes up. The head hunters will be more understanding as they are used to talent relocating. Lake Mary and East Orlando Near the University of Central Florida, Research Park, and Downtown Orlando have a bunch of tech companies. Hope that helps Last edited by Keeper; 03-07-2008 at 10:06 AM.. I will second research park.
You may want to try Hewitt Associates. They offer competitive wages and there are a lot of IT positions available. They were just listed one of the most admirable companies to work for. |
