We live in cincinnati Ohio. We are planning to move to Florida in few months. We ike everything here where we live except cold weather. Thats the main reason we want to move to Florida. We are thinking of moving to either Viera or Lake mary Florida. I am kind of nervous as I don't want to end up in a place where weather is good but schools are not as good, or area itself does not have much of shopping and restaurants,Good number of Indian people. please reply and help me if you have moved from midwest and how do you like there and how is your life there now.

Both Viera and Lake Mary are very good places for families and schools. I don't think Viera has much of an Indian population whereas Lake Mary has a sizable one in proportion to the overall population. I just checked demographics and the Asian population of Lake Mary is over twice the size of Viera's (1200-1300 in a population of 15,000). Asian in this area means almost exclusively South Asian as there are very few East/SE Asian residents living here.There's plenty of shopping/restaurant options in Lake Mary (a good bit more than Viera) though cannot address the difference in lifestyle from the Midwest, but would venture the lifestyle is fairly similar if living in the suburbs versus within the city.

I live in Dr. Phillips where half my neighbors are Indian (slight exaggeration), but still there is a large community here. Public schools are pretty good for Florida standards. There are tons of restaurants and shopping around this area (I recently moved from San Francisco). I enjoy it very much. Let me know if you have any other questions.
