Honestly, If I had to use the airport a lot, and wanted to be close to beach access, Lake Nona would make a lot of sense.

If I was 110% obsessed with Disney, I'd say the same thing about Celebration.

But those are pretty narrow circumstances for most people

Moving to Orlando early next year. I really love Dr. Phillips myself.

Windermere by a landslide. The original Windermere, that is, not the recently developed Winter Garden that calls itself Windermere.

Winter Park is far off distant second place and has plenty of bad areas. The "bad" part of Windermere is where non-hall of fame sports stars live.

Do any of these areas have real estate in the $350K-$400K?

But the nice parts of Winter Park are probably the nicest in the metro area. In addition to that, Winter Park has Park Ave, which is a fantastic street.

There are a number of other really nice areas aside from Windermere, by the way. Pretty much anything off of Markham Rd. and Markham Woods Rd. in Seminole County rivals anything Windermere has, from Alaqua Lakes to Heathrow to Sylvan Lake.

Far off distant second? Maybe for your taste. Winter Park (city proper) now has a greater share of the most expensive 100 homes in Central Florida than Windermere, and for me the vibe of Winter Park is more desirable than Windermere's with a trendy local restaurant scene and lots of new infill development happening. Along 17/92 old shopping centers are being overhauled, and other older businesses like car dealerships, old hotels, and repair shops are being bought and re-developed into nice residential and upscale shopping. WP is booming, and for that matter so is Maitland along the same strip.

Central Florida's most valuable mansions trend to Winter Park, Golden Oak - Orlando Sentinel

For me...

1) Winter Park
2) Dr. Phillips
3) Thornton Park

Im guessing you folks haven't made it past the guard gates in Windermere's best developments. Winter Park quite simply has no such areas. It does have slums within a few blocks of Park Ave though. Last time I was there multiple drunks were sleeping on the sidewalk on Park.

Windermere has a multiple Heathrow/Alaqua's. Even if it didn't, Isleworth alone wins this debate.

Not everyone wants to live in a place like Isleworth. Windermere is the definition of suburbia. Those looking for a more urban atmosphere with walkable neighborhoods will easily pick WP over it. Isleworth is overrated anyway IMO.
