Thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of refugees will be coming to US mainland after Hurricane Maria destroyed PR buildings and power grid.

Most of them will be coming to Orlando/Kissimmee, once flights start again from PR.

What is Orlando/Kissimmee doing to prepare shelter and prevent overcrowding in neighborhoods? What kind of aid programs are they providing?

As you can see, much housing is not livable right because of IRMA. There is a rental shortage for people who already live here:

So where are we going to put more than 100,000 other new people? Putting cots in Amway Center is not a solution.

Maybe we can use the Citrus Bowl (I refuse to call it by its new name) for something? Anything would be better than what it's currently used for.

Maybe Isleworth will volunteer their golf course for a tent city.

Where did you get your information regarding most of them coming to Orlando? That's a mighty big assumption if basing it upon the existing Puerto Rican population here. Some may come stay with relatives but any relief efforts underway will disperse refugees to varying locations with facilities already in place versus dumping them on one city, which is pretty ridiculous if you actually stop to think about it.

They are US citizens. The government is not allowed to disperse them and tell them where to locate. Where did you get that idea?

All they have to do is get on a plane and come here to Orlando Kissimmee. And this is where they will come.

Or they could go to New York, Miami, plenty of other places

towards the end of the video he says PR is starting to get renew commercial flights out of the island, but only to certain cities (Miami, Atlanta, Philadelphia, & New York). And due to the circumstances, poor crimeridden island (which is now flooded, think Katrina x2), Puerto Ricans are probably rushing to leave. Expect these cities PR populations to swell. I think some of the ones going to Miami will end up in Orlando soon after. And half of them going to NY will likely eventually move to Philly, due to it being close by and far cheaper.

I dont think most of these Puerto Rico migrants will be going to Orlando or Florida in general (atleast compared to before the Hurricane). As Florida, also just got hit hard with a hurricane, its just as hurricane-prone and flatter so more damage can be done. I think migration may be shifted back north, with Philadelphia replacing Orlando as the top spot. Some will still go to Florida, it will be a little more balanced, with Texas, Georgia, NC, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, NJ, NY, Connecticut, Massachusetts getting a bigger share.

So what's the problem? This is a free country, we can move wherever we want. Most will fly to wherever they have friends or family. I highly doubt the majority are just flying with a tent in their bag.
