I was wondering if you have Day Laborers (Jornaleros) waiting outside the Home Depot's in Orlando. Is this customary there like it is all over Texas? I have only been to Home Depot in Pensacola and over there they do not have anyone standing outside home depot looking for daily work.

Not that I have noticed. There are day labor offices in the area that are something of a substitute I suppose.

We have them in Tampa. I'm sure there's a few in Orlando as well. No where near as many as in TX. If you don't look for them you probably wouldn't even notice them. They don't hang out by the front door, usually on the outskirts of the parking lot.

Yes, they are most definitely at the Home Depot that I visit (Colonial near Semoran). They must not be allowed to be right in front of the Home Depot, so they gather out near Colonial.

EVERY HOME DEPOT has them!

Some store locations just does'nt let them 'loiter' by the entrance of the store itself. Look for them by the entrances/ exits of the parking lot.
Also if u see the 'auto body' guys that approach you in the parking lots they will direct u to them.
Those are they guys that say 'i can fix that dent on your hood, or i can replace that scratched up bumper for u papi'.

Sometimes they leave cards with #'s on the windshields of cars that need bodywork. Call the # even if u DONT want to 'repair' ur car and tell them u need painters, plasters, bricklayers, etc.

Also hit up the nearest carwashes as most of the workers that dry the cars, armor all, etc are always looking for side jobs or are glad to call their friends up and arrange it for u. I know this is not the most respectful way to approach somebody but they really dont get offended and its worked for me 8 out of 10 times. Worst they will say 'sorry papi im too busy this week but try the place on blahblah st.' Either way they will guide u in the right direction. The carwash should be ur last resort tho and only used if desperate and on a tight time skedule.

Plenty of them in all the S Fla H Depots...they congregate at the Parking Lot Exits. They get picked up normally by contractors for cheap Labor.

I would NEVER ever take one home even for a minor project. No way Jose ! or Miguel or Juan !!!!
