Is there a reason you posted in the Orlando forum, rather than the Tampa forum?

Check out Palm Harbor, NE Clearwater/Countryside, East Lake and Oldsmar. You're in close proximity to a regional medical center (Morton Plant Hospital-Clearwater), a sizable secondary hospital (Mease Countryside Hospital), and two smaller community hospitals (Mease Dunedin Hospital and Florida Hospital-North Pinellas) and excellent public schools in the vast majority of instances. It's more/less 30 minutes from most of Tampa and St Petersburg as well.

Technically every county in Florida is its own school district.

Generally pick your top high school and then find the best feeder Middle that goes into it. Then find the best feeder elementary and you've got your school zone set up.

Except best in that instance is not so much often in the overall picture.

I would recommend Lakeland for a family with children. It's about an hour from Tampa give or take. Lakeland Regional is a great hospital and if you're looking for a school that goes above and beyond check out McKeel academy downtown.

I don't think that's the reason behind it. Would guess economic reasons and climate are more the motivation.

Hello fellow Buckeye! I'm from Columbus and I live in Palm Harbor. We have several hospitals in Pinellas County, as well as many urgent care care/medical facilities. I'm very happy with the schools in Pinellas.

We are looking into Lakeland but my concern is that we are too late to apply to McKeel or any charter school and I’m hearing bad things about the public schools.
