We starting using a PUR pitcher and it's not the best...not to mention a PITA. I might try that water delivery service, especially if "toilet to tap" is passed tomorrow!

On that note, if toilet to tap is passed, would the bottled water also be affected? Doesn't Zephyrhills water (and others) come from the aquifer?
Doesn't our tap water also come from the aquifer?

Crystal Springs delivers Mountain Valley Spring Water from the Ozarks in Arkansas which doesn't have the limestone aquifer issues.

Yep, with a healthy dose of chlorine and fluoride besides heaven knows what else.

Thank you all for the suggestions...I just went to target and bought a 1 gallon jug of Zephyrhills, lol. Will see about getting a water cooler at home.

One word: Berkey. Their water filters are legendary and incredibly cheap on a per-gallon basis. We use the double-filtration system (one to get out the usual junk, and another--extra $$$--to get out the chlorine) and the water is so pure that it tastes distilled. We've actually been trying to figure out how to introduce minerals back into the water to make it taste better, that's how well-filtered it is.

I get the refillable gallons of water from Wal-mart. To refill each gallon is only .27 cents. I call the tap water in Florida, "alligator water".

If your like us here in Savannah residents get river water which needs to be treated, but industrial plants can draw from the aquifer in order to keep their costs down.

Yes. Florida water in all places I've lived and visited generally is nasty if you are not native here or even from other parts of the south. NC, GA, Texas, and Kentucky are some of the other states I lived and the water in not great either although better than Florida.

Just throwing this out there, NY is one of the states I lived and the water was the best. Loved their mountains, rivers, streams, and brooks.

Try the Brita again? I live in Lake Mary and the tap water does taste not great but the Brita got rid of all the taste. Make sure your dishes/glasses are clean of soap from the dishwasher too. I live at Colonial Grande and the dishwasher either because it sucks or the water is too hard(?) leaves some detergent in the glasses/bowls sometimes.

Brita and PUR don't do much. Both are poor choices. See photos of test results at end for various filters.

Lots of options for water, you can decide from the site what to do. Personally I drink 2/3 distilled 1/3 Evian mix. Or certain spring or purified water. Our water is filthy! Makes you itchy to shower in it.
