Possible work transfer in the near future and starting my research. Single, very physically active, 48yo male, mid six figure salary, work location near 4/482. Looking to rent condo/house in safe, upscale location. Will be visiting in the next couple of weeks to explore for a few days. Google maps/street view, Zillow, and pipe dreams are pointing me towards Cleremont area. Hoping the reality comes close to my expectations. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The Dr Phillips area is much more ideal for you in my opinion and would be minutes to work, versus heavens know how long from Clermont.

Definitely Dr Phillips!

It’s upscale, safe, borders I4/482, lots of restaurants, bars, grocery stores, etc. I live here, if you have any questions or want to know specific neighborhoods, feel free to ask.

Dr. Phillips. It's a little pricey but worth it.

Dr Phillips is a nice area, but there are other areas as well that can fit your needs.

If you are single and active you will likely find Clermont very boring. Dr Phillips, College Park or Baldwin Park would be a much better fit.

Thanks for the responses. Sounds like Cleremont is out. I will start looking more into Dr Phillips and Baldwin/College park. Thanks for the offer Bimmer, may take you up on the offer as I get further into the process. At first glance Dr Phillips looks very nice with short comute. Hoping to find townhome/etc. rental in my range of 2 - 2.5k per month. Some of the downtown highrise units look very nice in my range, but the locations suggested seem to be more conducive to my lifestyle. Again, many thanks!

Your budget is good even in expensive areas like Dr. Phillips. I'm assuming you'll be working at Lockheed Martin (you don't have to confirm lol). The other areas mentioned such as College Park, Baldwin Park are nice areas too and all three have very different vibes, just check commute times during rush hour to make sure you're okay with them. I'd also check out Downtown Orlando, around Lake Eola & Thornton Park. I still think Dr. Phillips would be the best choice in terms of what you are looking for and the commute, but it's always good to see everything in person and go from there.

In Dr. Phillips for what you're looking for and budget wise, I think these areas of focus are a good start. You can tour a property at each one or drive by them to see how you like it.
