there is some middle ground between cali and FL. No reason any 18 year old should be able to buy an assault rifle and have open season at a school, while a handgun is at 21.

You and the other guy are trying to deflect... nobody is talking about arming children or age requirements of ARs... please stick to the thread.

The article was about a legal conceal carry person who defended himself against an armed robber. It then moved on to getting rid of the stand your ground law and now it’s ARs buying requirements and wanting to arm children.

Considering what has been happening around the country in the last couple of years (including in Orlando), it's an issue that is directly connected to this thread. Law-abiding citizens without mental illness should be able to buy a gun for self-defense. An AR-15 is not a gun you would use at an ATM, or for self-defense purposes in general, now is it?

Considering who made that outlandish statement to begin with, and given his politicial affiliation, it made plenty of sense

This article has nothing to do with AR-15 for self-defense, take it to the politics forum if you want to debate assault rifles.

I was replying to the member who called the "stand your ground" law stupid or whatever he said. In a nutshell, that means you believe people shouldn't be allowed to defend themselves. Stand Your Ground applied directly to the article.
