HB, can I ask how long that might be? I'm coincidentally looking at Winter Springs as one of my possibilities.

Use google maps with live traffic turned on, it’s always accurate to +- a couple minutes unless a car accident happens during your drive. Definitely more accurate than my feeling/word or someone else’s feeling/word.

20 minutes from Central Winds Park (NE end of Winter Springs) to the Altamonte Mall.

6.5 miles door to door...Townhome to Altamonte Springs Mall.....(Google Maps) RIGHT NOW says 15 minutes and they quote: "Fastest route, lighter traffic than usual"

Everytime I do that route it's certainly longer than that. As a note to traffic there, when we first bought the Condo, HWY 417 was NOT used at all by the people there, now its like I-4

The 417 has become a total nightmare, but I'm not surprised. There are some VERY questionable design choices there, including its entrance in Sanford by International Pkwy Blvd and I-4.

I moved here in 2009 and remember the 417 being a ghost town back then. It was so quick and easy to get anywhere. I think it started getting crowded between 2013-2015, and now it sees congestion and accidents just like 408 and 528. I guess that's what happens when you add about half a million people to your population over the course of a decade.

I will say I am much happier about the 70mph speed limit that they changed back in 2015 versus the old 65mph speed limit. There used to be speed traps everywhere on 417 and they'd get anyone going over 70mph. Now I feel like I'm barely moving when cars pass by even when I'm going 80mph lol.
