Hello everyone! I am planning to move to either Apopka or Altamonte Springs in the next few months and I wanted to know what was a better location. I am a college student, but I am looking for a nice area to live in during my internship. I will be interning at MindComet in Altamonte Springs. I have been looking at Apartments and was wondering if you have feedback on any of these:

Orange North Apartments
943 West Orange Blossom Trial
Apopka, FL 32712

Barrington at Mirror Lake
700 Post Lake Place
Apopka, FL 32703

Raven Crossings
801 RAVENS CIR
ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FL 32714

Maitland Gardens
6750 Woodlake Drive
Orlando, FL 32810

Altamonte Manor
849 South Wymore Road
Altamonte Springs, FL 32714

The Palms at Altamonte Springs
828 Orienta Ave.
Altamonte Springs, FL 32701

Any information would help! I'm looking for an apartment within the 500-700 dollar range for a 3 to 7 month lease.

If you're a student just here on internship stay in Altamonte it will be much more convenient for you. Altmamonte pretty much has one of everything, Mall, Target, Wal-mart, restaraunts, etc. Although Apopka is right next door you will likely have to drive to Altamonte to these resources and Altamonte is right off I-4 where Apopka can be a long drive time depending on traffic. I understand you will be working in Altamonte so commuting on I-4 won't be an issue, but there will be times when you want to go out and explore Orlando. Being closer to I-4 will be a big advantage. Try looking for places in Altamonte around Cranes Roost/Mall area or Jamestown road. Just about anything with an Altamonte address will be close, however you may want to be a little careful with Wymore road addresses. Other than that, you should be fine.

That's funny....where in Orlando is it not "ghetto-infested"?
Don't say Champion's Gate because the county doesn't pay that well.

There are plenty of areas in Orlando that are not ghetto infested.

Clearly no one wants to help you, I will. Stay away from Wymore road, I lived on Wymore. It is a heavier drug area. Orienta is up in the air... Altamonte is a nice area, depending on where you are. If you stay around the Altamonte mall it is nicer because the city is building it up and renovating the area. Sanford is pretty rough in MOST (not all) areas. Once again stay around the Sanford mall and you'll be ok but the commute will kill you. The distance its self isn't far but the traffic makes the time horrible. Casselberry is low budget but actually pretty decent. Lake Mary/Heathrow is more expensive but nice. Once again the commute is going to take a while due to traffic. Winter Springs and Oviedo have some pretty nice places but are a little bit more expensive than Casselberry. The commute wouldn't be too bad though.

Stay away from Orange Blossom Trail... trust me you can ask anyone who has lived over on O.B.T. Do your homework on the Apopka addresses too. I'm not saying Apopka is bad but it is still up and coming and there are quite a few less desirable places to live there.
Hope this helps

Thanks for the information! I really appreciate it!

Do you have any information on the Sandpiper Apts in Casselberry?

Someone here told me to avoid Orienta Ave. cause of alot of police activity...cause I was looking into the Palm Apartments at Altamonte Springs.

Sandpiper Apts. had the nickname "Crackpiper". I can't speak for them anymore but if you drive by them they still look pretty run down. I actually live about 7 minutes from them. They are across the street from some pretty nice houses though (that really messed with me when I moved to Florida, dumpy apts. next to nice houses...). I don't know how much you're looking to spend but in Winter Springs there is Courtney Springs (they just changed names and I don't remember the new name) and there is Golf Terrace (another one that changed names, I don't remember the new name). Check Apartments For Rent – EveryAptMapped – Easy Apartment Search for some basic info.
