Stoneybrook East or West (Orlando, Oviedo: credit, job, closing)

Whats the difference in commute from Lockheed West Sand lake Blvd or Sand Hill. And whats the difference in ammenities?

I would have to say Stoney brook west. Amenities are pretty much same, however, they have just opened up a new fantastic mall which is amazing, it is in Winter Garden and so is centrally located to everything, and yoru commute to Lockheed is only 15 min its that close.

May i ask what size beds bath sq ft your looking for?

We're a fam of 5 right now with 4000 sq ft mini Texas mansion. Wont be able to afford that there I already heard. So I'm just gonna see what things look like when I get there.

To be fair to outsiders, I would call Winter Garden Village or Waterford Lakes malls. They are very nice and have the traffic of malls, but they more a outdoor shopping center that is a conglomeration of big box stores, nice eateries and specialty stores. They contain SuperTargets, Best Buys, Barnes and Nobles, etc. in a well laid out and clean, attractive shopping center. Orlando has many malls, with dept stores and food courts as well, but there is a difference.

I know what you mean. We have alot of those nice shopping centers here too. I love all the ones with the big beautiful Barnes and Nobles in them. I like how you can buy your book and sit outside in front of the Bookstore and drink your latte's. Malls are a bit too closed in for me, but they may be a good shopping choice for hot and humid days of Florida summer I would assume.

Of course. I like them myself too, but I thought I would differentiate the two since some Floridians get in the habit of calling them malls. They are more like strip malls on steroids LOL. Very nice though, I am not trying to discredit cfIan.

You are right though, i guess being from the UK originally, i just call everything a mall unless its a Publix strip plaza...lol

I live 10 minutes down the rd and my inlaws live in the community next to Winter Garden Village (Mall....lol) and we havent been to millenia or Florida mall since it opened.

I much prefer it, plus there was alot of opposition to it being built, but they did such a good job of it everyone is happy.

I think malls are better if it is rainy and you have to be inside to shop and sometimes they attract more high end stores, especially Millenia. Day to day though, you can get all your daily needs met at the shopping centers. I have only been to Winter Garden Village once, since i am so far from that part of town and I drive by Waterford almost every day to get to work. They are definitely very nice and still have most options, they are just a little different from an actual mall. On the westside, you will be close to West Oaks. It is not the nicest mall, but has some of the options you would be missing from Winter Garden Village. On the east side, you are further from another actual mall, but the Oviedo Marketplace is nice. I think for a mall their options are a little scant, but it is a nice mall with a serene and secluded feel. There is a lot of greenery around it closing it off from some of the adjacent highways and busier streets.
