Default Avalon Park subdivision

My husband and I are looking for a home closer to the city (we are in Sanford now) We'd like a neighborhood with good schools and ethnic diversity. We are open to new homes but we wants trees! We were told Avalon Park was great but all the houses I'm finding on realtor.com are the cookie cutter stucco homes with no trees. Is is possible to find something else for under $300 in East Orlando? So far, Winter park looks like our only option and we wanted to make sure we investigated every option before making a choice. Thanks for your help!

umm look for a house in the country. I found a 2 bedroom mobile home for 550 a month including electric and water in a very quiet part of that area. I can see avalon park from my house. I am surrounded by trees and its beautiful.

A lot of houses in the 32801, 32803, 32806 area codes have more character and are immediate to downtown. They are probably more affordable than Winter Park in places too.

Going to get a smaller and older home in Winter park for under 300K, most likely in the Brookshire Heights and Winter Park Pines neighborhoods, homes will probably need a little work depending. Houses have 1950's character there and plenty of tree's at least. There are also quite a few Subdivisions down University, some worth a look, some not.

I wouldn't say avalon Park has many tree's, at least older one's, the whole area is brand new and needs time to grow in. You DO have more choices than just the cookie cutter stucco homes out there, and for under 300K. Toll has some Tudor style homes, and IN avalon park there are Neo-Traditional homes mixed in with open green spaces.

Waterford Lakes and Eastwood area are also area's with good schools, and some tree's, but houses are typically a little cookie cutter.

Cypress Lakes and North to Lake Underhill is a nice area too, but they are zoned University High last I checked.

Lake Nona is also nice, Neighborhoods are like Avalon Park, and I think the Nortlake park subdivision would be the area you'd want to stay in to stay away from the cookie cutter look and see some tree's.

Then of course you have Oviedo and Chuluota, Seminole County schools, and while the houses have all been built by the same builder it seems....you get a rural feeling driving down the road as most nieghborhoods are well hidden....depending on where you are.

To have easiest access to downtown though....I'd stick with Winter Park and maybe The Waterford lakes and cypress springs area.
