Hi Everyone,
My husband will be working near Lake Mary/Heathrow. Seems as if we can get much more house for our money in Oviedo. Will the commute be absolutely brutal? Schools in Oviedo vs. Schools in Lake Mary? We will be moving from the Northeast with a senior in HS and a 7th grader.

Thank you!

If working in Heathrow-Lake Mary I would suggest living in that area given the schools are about the same quality. The real estate market is fairly equivalent between the two unless comparing to higher end subdivisions in Heathrow-Lake Mary which don't really have any comparisons in Oviedo. I would also recommend considering the west side of Sanford which adjoins Lake Mary-Heathrow and shares the same school zones. What kind of a housing budget are you looking at so as to make appropriate recommendations?

We are looking at approx. 425,000 and are looking for 4/5 bdr and a pool. Looked at a ton of properties in LM yesterday, and nothing really caught our eye.

Did you look at West Sanford? What about Longwood? That price point should put you in a pretty nice house in Seminole County, and one that doesn't have to be as far out as Oviedo.

I agree Arcenal. Here's some examples...

You might even check out the Winter Springs/Tuskawilla area. There are some new homes and
neighborhoods going in that meet your price range.

A family member was commuting from Winter Springs to Lake Mary (Rinehart Rd) and it was
around a 20 minute drive. Yours may be a little more.

Good luck,
@movetoorlando
