Hi,
I needed to probe the collective wisdom of all the Orlando area pros and experts on this forum. I am interested in buying a home which has a Clermont address *but* is in Polk County. Do the folks/realtors having in-depth knowledge of that area know which sub-divisions/communities satisfy this critera? I know this is not easy to figure out , hence the challenge to all the pros out here. Can anybody help me out? Thanks in advance. |

Are you looking for New Construction or ReSales or Foreclosures?

I am open to all three.
Experts, any input on the above? Thanks in advance. |

Not much to input online...that's just a simple MLS search for us "experts". I no longer do searches based on 1 line criteria for people I've never met before.
Need much more information, or it's a waste of time for us both. You'll have to go through a ton of property that doesn't match your needs/wants, and then you'll think I'm a bad agent for not being able to narrow things down for you, and I'll never have the chance to help you in the appropriate way. |

Greg,
Thanks for your response. As a clarification, I wanted to know the names of any sub-divisions in Clermont, but in Polk County. I do not need to find out the specific homes for sale in that sub-division. The reason the above is a challenge and not simply an MLS search, is that if you look at the maps of Clermont and Polk County, there is an absolutely tiny and microscopic piece of Clermont in Polk County (99.99% of Clermont appears to be in Lake County). Most of that 0.01% tiny piece looks commerical to me. I have looked at both the MLS and the GIS info, and could not find any residential area. Hence I needed to tap into the collective wisdom of folks who live in that area, for this info. If any of you can help me, that would be wonderful. If I am wasting people's time with this request, my apologies. Thanks. Quote:

Only residential I found in BOTH clermont and Polk County is a manufactured home community called outdoor resorts of america.

Yes, I found the same. It appears to also be a RV park.
So does that mean that there are no sub-divisions with a Clermont address but in Polk county? Is there anything else left to lookup or follow-up? Thanks again for your help. |

To be honest, for what you are looking for i havent been able to find anything. I would suggest if you want to be in Clermont, then you need to find a Clermont home. If you want to be in Polk then a Polk county home. Is there a particular reason you want to be in Polk. Because you could only talking about a 15-20 min drive down 27

Thanks for looking it up and for your help, cfIfan
For my job, I need a home with fiber optic high speed Internet access. Polk county has Verizon FIOS service, hence my desire to be in that area. To the best of my knowledge, other counties in and near Orlando are not in Verizon service area. At the same time, I would like to be in a decent school district with safe and convenient neighbourhoods. Close to MCO and close to Disneyworld. Hence my desire for a place like Clermont. Davenport and Haines City are the closest places satisfying the fiber optic Internet access criteria ( via Verizon FIOS) in Polk County, but they don't seem to be in the same category of desireability as Clermont. The other solution is to determine if other areas around Orlando have fiber optic Internet access, other than Verizon FIOS. But I have not idea how to figure that one out e.g. all the new developments in Lake Nona, do they have fiber optic rollout, even though they are not in Verizon service area? Anyway, now you know. Thanks for any help that you can provide. Quote:
