Orlando doesn't have New York style pizza, not really. Were you expecting anything different? I wouldn't even say Orlando is known for pizza at all.
I like California Pizza Kitchen or Donato's. Hungry Howies or Papa John's is also OK. There are lots of Italian restaurants around, too. |

Oh man, does anyone know is Anthonys on 17-92 in Casselberry is still open? Best slice south of NYC (yes, it's better than anything in NJ or S. FL too). Waaay too far from Hunter's Creek though.

The one in Sanford had good pizza but it was a rathole when I lived there so I didn't like to go. I like hole in the wall places but the place was just plain nasty at the time. The one in Casselberry however could not be beat. Glad to see they are still good!

No New Yorker, New Jerseyer would ever confuse Anthony's and their cardboard crust and tomato paste sauce as true New York Pizza. It is better than Pizza Hut but forget about it curing the culinary shock of being in an area that collectively boasts the worst food in America, unless you love chains. Bazzarro's in Melbourne is worth the trip, nothing in Orlando remotely comes close.

No silence, this is a different Anthony's. There is one called "Lil Anthonys" that was really popular and overrated and that stuff was crap, yet got called "Best pizza in Orlando". What a joke. There was some Anthony's in Thornton Park too. Don't even know what the deal was with that pseudo-yuppie cardboard. There was another Anthonys on University at Dean Rd. That one was OK, not too bad. Then there was the one in Sanford. That one is decent. I have passed a few other "Anthony's" too of mixed quality. The one in Casselberry however (just called "Anthony's Pizza") is like a little secret. It's been there for years and it's run by NYers who keep the place a little secret.

The one in Sanford as well as the downtown sanford area was re-done. What year did you go there? You could always sit outside and then not have to worry.

I have to agree, Anthony's on 17-92 in Casselberry is just as good as the pizza I used to get in NJ. Their subs are also very good. Now only if I could find a good "pork store" (Italian Grocery) down here.
