"The Beach. I traveled over to Cocoa Beach for a day trip and experienced that. Absolutely beautiful area and I'm sure that I would be traveling there at least 1X a month."

Cocoa Beach is poop.

Check out Clearwater, Sanibel, Captiva, Marco, Naples, Longboat, etc. (All on the Gulf coast, BTW) and you'll forget all about Cocoa.

Trust me on this one!

Default point to be made

Im all for different perspectives. The problem is it is always the same handful of people who are complaining all the time. You look at any thread under Orlando or even Florida and it is the same handful of people complaining. There is an easy solution. Leave. If its that bad why do people stay. They obviously do because they are on here complaining all the time....lol. I mean really, its so bad here for all these years, why stay. People say they have been crippled by the bubble. What nonsense. These are the same people who have been saying how bad it has been for the last 10 years. They could have left then but didnt. Some people have this ideal world in their head where everything is perfect. Doesnt exist people, you have to take the rough with the smooth and in my opinion the positives outweigh the negatives here. If you cant deal with that, then go to that perfect place that really doesnt exist.

I completely agree with you. I think its hysterical when they DO leave and come back to the Florida forums to STILL complain. Has no one heard of therapy or antidepressants or happy weed?? JUST KIDDING.

No one place is right for everyone AND even once you find the place thats perfect for you, there are still things that detract, you have to decide if you LOVE it enough to look beyond certain things. So far anything that is wrong here isn't enough to make me leave.

I LOVE it here, I have great neighbors, I live in a great small town, I have a nice home, I am far enough outside of Orlando but close enough to get there when I want.

There are things I wish were better but when I have had a day like I had on Saturday, those things don't seem so important. I was by the pool in my development ALL DAY, chatting with neighbors, working on my tan, listening to music, enjoying getting the kids so tired out that they didn't give me BS when we got home (my daughter had a sleep over with two of her friends).

I'm the kind of person who finds a problem so I come up with a solution, do you really have a right to sit and whine without that?

I got laid off two jobs in 4 years. SO I decided to go back to school and get a nursing degree.

We have a crime problem in Orlando. SO I keep a loaded gun by my bedside table AND I have a security system.

I hate St. Augustine grass and can't keep it alive. SO, my front yard is going to become a HUGE flower bed.

More people should try it rather then just sitting and whining.

I'll make 60-80k, but I don't sit in traffic.

See when you live downtown and work in the city or have to head up I4 east, there is no traffic in the AM.

Sorry to ruin it, but I drive 80 MPH on I4 both ways.

Please remember we all have opinions on a city/state whether it is good or bad. All post are welcomed as long as they follow the ToS and are on topic of the thread.

The person considering moving to any city/state should not take 1 person's perspective as being an absolute truth.

There is good and bad no matter where you live.
