Default total confusion

I am really hoping someone on this thread can help in any way. We are relocating into the Cental Florida area, and are open to any town within 45 miles of the Orlando airport. I grew up in South Florida and now live in N. Carolina. 2 of my biggest concerns are schools, and an affordable nice place for my 60 year old mother to live and hopefully meet a nice senior man. What towns could be suggested and if anyone has names of 55 plus community developements it would really help me out. Thank you

I don't know about Poinciana. I just read today in the paper that there are almost 1,300 home that have either been foreclosed on or have been notified that they will be foreclosed on there. They are very worried about crime in these empty homes and they look awful. The HOA is owed $600,000 in fees and they do not know who to contact for them since many owners have just walked away. I would not buy anywhere near there until that gets fixed!

Solivita is a very nice area as a 55+ community, unfortunatly i wouldnt recommend the rest of Poinciana. There isnt much there, affordable housing there is but you can find much nicer neighbourhoods elsewhere, and if Schools is important to you, you wont find many good ones in Kissimmee/Poinciana area.

I appreciate all the great responces on the 55+ community. Do you think that if the problem with the forclosures is so bad for the crime level in this area, it is the same for many developements near and around Orlando? I have been researching homes for sale in Orvieda, Viera, & Winter Springs, and I have noticed a lot of homes in or almost in Foreclosure. These areas (I think) have the BEST public schools.
