Mt. Dora is a nice town. A little remote. Not sure about prices.

Anyway - right now at around 1:30pm on a Wednesday - here's a 45 minute drive time from Polynesian Village https://app.traveltime.com/search/0_...0_lat=28.40576

You can't see the full functionality unless you subscribe but you can mess around with the drive times and time of day to see how far you can get. A 30 minute radius of Disney (assuming off-peak travel) is a large part of the metro area with a really wide range of housing prices and includes some of the wealthiest and some of the poorest suburbs in the region.

If you're willing to go to 45 minutes that takes in the entirety of the cities of Orlando and Winter Park, out towards UCF, and even gets you to places like Altamonte and Casselberry in Seminole County.

If schools aren't a concern you really have your pick of nice neighborhoods. If you're willing to do a townhouse it seems like the area from Windermere out to Horizon West and north to Winter Garden and out to Clermont/Minneola has plenty in your price range that will keep you reasonable close to one of the area downtowns.

Hijacking this thread her We are a couple without kids so this reply stuck out to me as we are looking for nice neighborhoods to live in the Orlando area. I remember renting bikes in the winter garden area and seeing cute homes with enclosed pools in that area, great neighborhood. it felt like a neighborhood built for families and good schools.

In our situation, we kind of want to live closer to the beach instead of Disney. are there any areas between orlando and the atlantic coast that are nice places to rent in? Or perhaps in the eastern part of orlando?
