I got caught on the Greenway after midnight with no way to pay, so I had to exit without paying. You won't hear from them.

Do not wait any longer. Write letter expalining what happen, send check or money order and the issu will be solved. we did like this, we did not get any penalty, no any extra fees or any cost. No ticket!!!

Well I'm back in the Great White North now, where we have no toll
What we did was the next morning we called our rental company and the toll authority and basically they both said that I should be fine provided that was the only toll offend i have during my rental period. So far the rental company only charged me for the car rental and nothing else, I will wait for the next few credit card bills to see if I will get any other charges.
So far this "toll encounter" cost me around $5 the hotel charged me for using the phone to make 3 local calls.

You'll be fine, I've ran quite a few in the 7 years I've lived here, At most they'll send you a polite letter telling you not to run them anymore. And they won't track down your credit card number and charge you.
