Winter Springs?
Winter Garden? Winter Haven? I've heard one of thee is not a nice area to live and one is. Which is which? Also, why so many winters in a place that doesn't have any? lol |

The worst is probably Winter Garden but there are parts that are really nice but also parts a little too close to Pine Hills. The best IMO would be Winter Springs followed closely by Winter Haven.
But don't forget Winter Park! I think they all have Winter in them because they were havens for Northerners during their cold months. |

Wow, as someone who lives in Winter Garden, i would recommend you visit and check it out. It is superbly located, quiet, new shopping center which is fantastic, and many parts such as where i live may have a Winter Garden but if you look at a map are actually located in Windermere. I have friends who live in Winter Haven and they are desperate to leave. Properties are cheaper there but its one heck of a commute to anywhere

None of the above. Winter Park above all. Winter Springs is good if your married with kids and the other ones aren't really good at all. Actually, Winter Haven has a charming downtown and is the birthplace of Publix, so it's pretty good lol.

The best thing you can do is visit all the areas for yourself and see which is the best fit for you and your family. The reason i say this is there are certain people who have an agenda sadly. The only people who can really know if an area fits in with them is yourselves. Winter Park is very nice but also expensive. Winter Garden/windermere is very nice. The best thing you can do is look at the comments made on other threads and you will see it is the same people who are negative about everywhere.....Silence......lol

Ah Ha Ha, Where is my negativity about Winter Park, Winter Park is very nice (there something positive) Winter Garden is referred to as Winter Garbage. I call it as I see it, I'm not living in some pretend World where I can walk out in 95 degree heat in May (which it will be Saturday) and say lotty da, da, I'm so lucky to be here this is so much better than the smells of spring and the tulips blooming in 75 degrees. How utterly blessed we are. Or look around at the wonderful landscape we have here, I don't know how those poor people can possible stand to look at those hills and mountains. la de da, the humidity is so wonderful. Let's clear some swamp build some cheap cookie cutter homes, these are so much nicer than colonials and victorians up North. La da da, owe by the way if you need a realtor to help you get settled in this paradise, I may know of one who can help. And yeah, what a swinging downtown, all the people in San Franscisco and Chicago are jealous of this hidden GEM. All the big companies moving into Orlando daily, NOT!! I have no agenda, I wish it were true, but sadly it is not and never will be know matter how much la de da comes from this board. We have lakes here, two kids tried to swim in one of them last year and died from bacteria, every month a body is found in another one of them. Come to PARADISE!! FAST!!!

I think your post says it all. Anyone only has to look at other posts you have written to see your agenda. As a resident of Winter Garden, i dont know where you are looking but you are wrong and i recommend the op takes a drive around each of the areas so they can make an informed decision based on their needs and requirements, rather than the biased and unwarranted claims of some.
Really, if Orlando is so bad, then leave. Stop making excuses, because if it is sooooo bad you would move heaven and earth to leave instead of complaining all the time. I guess for some it is easier to sit and complain than do something to better your situation. |

I think the only reason people consider Winter Garden bad is they are thinking of true Winter Garden (the downtown area north of Colonial). There are plenty of nice areas around Stoneybrook West and close to Windermere that are still in Winter Garden, which is where I am sure you live cfIan. Winter Park is nice but has more affordable parts on the eastside. Some of those areas are dumpy. The majority of Winter Park is very nice and very expensive. Winter Springs is nice too, just different. I think of it as more "woodsy" and green than Winter Garden so it can feel small and far away. It is one of the harder areas in the city to commute to and from because of freeway access and distance. The "Winters" are all pretty nice and have good homes and options. I cannot speak for Winter Haven though since I have only seen it on an ext sign from I-4. I totally agree about Silence's agenda but have determined it is more effective to just ignore him or her. All of his or her opinions have no validity to me.
