Hello. I will be staying at the Rosen Shingle Creek near Universal later in the month attending a conference. I will be entertaining a number of clients during the course of my stay. I was wondering if anyone could help me pinpoint a few places to go at night, due to me not being famailiar with the area. The closer to the hotel, the better! And only "safe" areas please! Here is what I am generally looking for:
1. Good local restaurants. I see a number of them right on site at the hotel, but if there are any others in the immediate area that you reccomend, that would be great. 2. Most of my clients are young and I need to show them a good time at night! Are there any good places for nightlife nearby? Specifically places that would be "happening" during odd nights, such as sunday through tuesday night. Nightclubs or lounges or dance clubs - that sort of thing. Perhaps some good bars too. I know some of these guys wouldn't mind talking to some women! (everyone is primarily white, if that matters). 3. And For the male clients - how about any gentlemen's clubs as well? They do not have to be the overally upscale, super pricey ones, but don't point me in the direction to the super shady ones in crime ridden areas either. Thank you in advance! Advice is greatly appreciated. |

Universal CityWalk nearby has a few decent resteraunts and bars. I personally like Pat O'briens for both. Also, nearby Sandlake road has a Morton's Steakhouse, a Ruth Chris, and a few others. International Drive has a great place called Capital Grill. Get the lobster macoroni and cheese as a side.
The best nightlife is Downtown, assuming your clients are in their 20's/early 30's. There is also a Blue Martini nearby attached to Millenia Mall. I'm not too sure how that place is on off-nights though. On the less-expensive side, there's an Ale House on Kirkman that can get OK. For adult entertainment, Orlando is pretty tame due to strict Blue laws, but the nicest one around is Rachels; Welcome to Rachels.com. But, there are no clubs near your resort that I am aware of. |

Go to Pointe Orlando which is near the convention center. There is Capital Grill as she mentioned but there are also other new restaurants that just opened up there. Tommy Bahama (yes restaurant), Maggianos, Red Rock Canyon Grill, there's a Greek place, a wine bar and B.B. King's. BB's is a restaurant but also a hopping club after 10. They have a house band that is supposedly really good.
There are tons of restaurants along I-drive, Bahama Breeze, all the chains and some other types. Down on Sand Lake and on into Dr. Phillips there is Mortons, Timpano Chophouse, Roy's, Jeffrey's to name a few. Just go down International Drive towards Sand Lake, turn left and go under I-4 to a whole ton or places. ALL nice and safe areas. For fun entertainment there is the Howl at the Moon which is also near the Convention Center. Blue Martini on Wednesday night is ladies night so the younger guys in your group may like that...;-) If your adventurous eaters, i would recommend Cedars, it is on Sandlake rd in Dr Phillips. It is arabic food and they have a belly dancer there most nights i believe. Nice atmosphere, but i would avoid it on the weekend as its busy and they play live loud arabic music. So loud you cant hold a conversation, but during the week it is nice.

For a very nice Sushi place to take clients, Ran-Getsu on International Drive (I-Drive) is great.
There is nothing within walking distance of your hotel... it is a new area that is just starting to be developed. But I-Drive is pretty close, and there are lots of touristy things there - places to eat, as well as entertainment. |

There's also an Emeril's in City Walk. The food at Rachel's is pretty decent as well...good steaks. |

Salt Island is another restaurant that would probably be nice for clients. I've enjoyed a few nice meals there.
