Default Place to live between Lakeland/downtown Orlando

My husband has been relocated to Lakeland, and I just found a job in downtown Orlando. Where is a nice place to move to between these areas so that we can split the commuting distand in half for both of us?

Winter Garden/Windermere would give you a commute of no more than 45 min to both locations. Or if you dont mind the expense there would be Celebration or possibly Davenport/Championsgate area which would be closer to Lakeland than Downtown Orlando possibly

Northern Lake Alfred, Haines City, Northern Winter Haven, North East Auburndale, Davenport. Depending where you guys work in Lakeland and Orlando, these locations can provide a commute time of anywhere from 20 mins - 45 mins between each city.

I also would suggest Haines City, but parts of southern Clermont can be relatively 1/2 way between Orlando and Lakeland, if you stay near US27. Even parts of Kissimmee near Windermere/Disney area can be a relatively quick commute to both. While actually closer to Orlando, the traffic generally thins out south of US192 and gets heavier towards downtown Orlando, so the travel times may be very similar.

Right now with the gas prices it's tough to say. For geografic purposes I would recommend Winter Haven. Since I'm retired I selected Lakeland because of the multitude of apartments. I live 1 mile from I4 and depending on traffic I can be in Tampa or Orlando in less than an hour. Good Luck

Yes, we also live in Lakeland, we are in the Southgate (south downtown) area and my hubby commutes to downtown Tampa which takes 45 minutes. From here to downtown Orlando is usually 50-60 minutes, depending on traffic.

Winter Haven might be a nice choice for you - it is a gorgeous smaller town only 15-20 miles east of Lakeland, but has plenty to offer.
