Default Seaside/Rosemary and Disneyworld...doable in 10 days?

Hi all you lucky Floridians with your amazing beaches...

I'm wondering if it would be possible, fun and relaxing to fly from Austin to Orlando, go to Disney for a couple of days and then on to Seaside? Is that too much driving? Are these realistically 2 seperate trips??

3 kids, 16, 13 and 7, the poor things have never been to Disneyworld. Thanks for replying!

Pynknoyz is on a distinguished road
Hi, I wanted to respond because no one else has yet. The Orlando International Airport is reasonably close to Disney. I had to look up Seaside to see where it was - and it is close to 400 miles to get there. Looks like a lovely area. I've not driven from Orlando to the Panhandle, but with 3 kids in the car, I would allow a full day (with stops, meals, etc.) to get up there and then a full day back, meaning you'll be exhausted when you get there and back. There are lots of great beaches that are much closer. However, if you do Disney for a few days, then spend a day driving to Seaside and allow a full day to get back, that would leave you enough time in 10 days to spend a few days up there too. I wouldn't classify it as a relaxing vacation ;-), but doable.

I would pick another beautiful Florida beach that is closer unless you are trying to make it there for family. I say that because of the distance. If you want to see it for that quaint new urbanism development style, I would look at Celebration, Baldwin Park or maybe even Avalon Park. If you are are going to the beach, I would go to Siesta Key or Clearwater. Thank you for asking about it though because I may be driving up to Pensacola this next month and that may be a cool stopping point to see. I had to research where and what Seaside was.

Thanks so much for the alternatives to Seaside....here in Austin, Seaside is all the rage, and sounds lovely, but I'm sure there are other places. I'll be sure to look into Siesta Key. My poor children have never been to Disney, so I was going to try to work that in to our vacation! Thanks!!!

I just watched a show where siesta key was voted the #2 best Florida beach to South Beach. They raved about the unique powdery smooth sand composed of quartz that is almost white in color. The gulfside beaches in general are beautiful. I have been to Clearwater but not yet Siesta Key and hope to take some visiting friends in July.
