So does that mean there are strip clubs every 15 miles? lol Just kidding, That is what it is like in Ft. Lauderdale. I understand what you are saying though. I can not wait to get down there in a couple weeks and check things out.

East orange county on the whole tends to be lower in price simply because it isnt that desireable an area. If you stretch out towards Lake Nona then that is a prety nice area. There are some very nice areas and well priced communities both new build and resale in West Orange which is where i live and work out of.

Unless you are driving on OBT you wont see many strip clubs.

If schools are your priority, you can compare standardized test results on the Florida's Department of Education web site.

East Orlando is fine. University HS and Timber Creek HS have good reputations. They are opening up a new high school in that area for the 2009-2010 school year to relieve those two schools.

I like the East side, but I do feel that the homes are built at a higher quality in Lake Nona and Oviedo than they are in much of Waterford/Avalon and there is a section of east Orlando in Union Park that is pretty undesirable. I like some areas of Cypress Springs a lot too that seem a little better than Waterford for the quality of homes. I do not think the area is horrible or anything and you would be fine there but people are just saying that there are nicer options if you take the time to look and can afford them looking in Oviedo, Lake Nona, Winter Springs, etc. Traffic is also really bad in the mornings and evenings coming out and in of Waterford in the areas south of Curry Ford down to Avalon Park because it is still a two lane road despite the number of homes in that area. I think they are working on a solution, but it is still an issue currently.

Maria, Seminole County has excellent schools. SCPS has received straight A's as a school district since the state started ranking school districts with grades. I teach and coach basketball for SCPS. My familiy loves the school district. Lake Mary ranked fourth in the nation in Money Magazine's Best Places to Live. Winter Springs ranked 31st.
