The airlines will not fly you into a hurricane. Plus Orlando is inland, so quit worrying and relax. The odds of having beautiful weather are in your favor.

When your in the parks, thats the best time to get on the rides, no lines because everyone apparently thinks they are going to melt in the rain.

Just think of this way. You're escaping the killer tornado weather for hurricane season. I think tornados are much worst and more people die from that then hurricanes. You can never know when a tornado will touch down and destroy everything in its path. I'm sure I'm making you feel better now right? Trust most of us, hurricanes are pretty rare for the most part. The media just want you to think it happens everyday here. Scaring people keeps them indoor and watching the tube more.

Thanks (for the posts that made me feel better )

As I said I'm not worried about a hurricane per say - cuz I will care less when I'm on the ground - it's being in the air that will terrify me

And I've been to Florida several times in my life - I have family there and have been to Disney World twice before hand - just not in about 8 years, and this flying issue started about 5 years ago (it's bad enough to where I have a therapist and a hypnotist trying to help me)

As for being in the air, think about it this way...

Every day the same flight that you're taking leaves for Orlando. Each day there are probably two or three flights from your airport to Orlando. Each week there are probably 15-20 flights leaving for, and returning from, Orlando. Right now there's probably a plane leaving from your airport for Orlando. Extrapolate the amount of flights leaving for Orlando from various cities across North America, and they're all touching down and landing safely, and returning safely two or three times a day... in all types of weather conditions. That's an amazing success rate given all of the planes in the skies above North America. When the doors close on the plane, take comfort in the stats. That's what gets me through.

The weather forecast on the day I was leaving Orlando called for lightning and thunder, with storms sweeping across the entire midwest. To be honest, I was more curious to see how the pilots were going to circumnavigate the storms than being afraid. Keep in mind, the pilots of your flight have to do this at least a few times each week.

Hope this helps.
