Unhappy I think I'm dumb - Did I plan my vacation during Hurrican Season?

First off, I'm a terrible flyer. I'm the girl who is scared sh*tless on airplanes and turbulance makes me go insane.

But my family (kind of a mini reunion) planned our DisneyWorld trip from Sept 28th to Oct 5th.

ANd I'm not worried about hurricanes once I'm on the ground - I'm worried about flying into the turbulance

Did I shoot myself in the foot? - cuz dumb me suggested this time of year without thinking - and now everything is paid for.

Don't worry, they will not let you fly if there is a Hurricane even close to our area. I have flown during that time of the year dozens of times and never had a problem. Have a glass of wine before you go on...that always does the trick for my brother-in-law who is terrified of flying. Good luck!

Yep. September is usually one of the worst months for hurricanes and bad weather. Good luck!

I have felt turbelence flying into Orlando having NOTHING to do with a hurricane. So please don't worry if you feel a little bouncing around. The airlines will be WELL aware of any weather problems in the area.

There hasn't been a significant hurricane in a couple years, no reason this time of year should be any different. BUT should that happen, Disney is self sufficient and will have electricity no matter what, its also rare that they close down the parks.

Relax, I have friends who come down every October and never had a problem. People at Disney after the hurricanes thought the hurricanes of 2004 weren't so bad because Disney did so well. I went down and stayed at a hotel there after Hurricane Francis, it was indeed like nothing had happened.

I second the 'have a glass of wine' for the timid flier, well I usually have a beer, but it works for me.

Well, I'm sure you got a discounted rate because it is hurricane season and kids are in school. It's all relative.

"Usually" implies more then 50% of the time which is not accurate.

I beg to differ. The truth is August and September are generally the worst Ms. "politically correct"

Here's your proof: Notice the Cat. 3 or greater column.

Orlando Florida Weather

Average monthly temps.

Orlando hasn't had a hurricane since 2005 and that was a sad representation of a hurricane.
