Default Moving to Orlando

My husband and I are looking into moving to Orlando this summer. I've read a lot of the posts on here about the crime rate and all other problems people have with the different areas of Orlando. We're from Louisville, KY and even though it doesn't probably sound like a crime ridden place Louisville went through what Orlando is going through now. There were new murders on the news every night. Eventually though the crime rate went back down. I'm sure the crime in Orlando is centered around certain areas. Can anyone tell me what areas to stay away from and what areas are good for a newly married couple in their mid 20s? We will be renting an apartment for now and our limit is around $1500 a month.

Seminole county Lake Mary, Longwood, Winter Springs, Oviedo, Altamonte Springs Winter Park. Are you looking for a house or apartment? With that amount you could find either in a nice area. These are the suburbs, 15-20 minutes to downtown with low crime. I live in Lake Mary and feel very safe.

We're looking for an apartment for now. THanks for the feedback. I've actually applied for some jobs in Lake Mary and have been looking at the area.
