Hey everyone...
Unfortunately our first choice on a home fell through in Oviedo, and we had a second choice in the Stoneybrook subdivision (the golf community). I was curious what you all had to say about it. I've read it's in Orange County (less desirable schools than Seminole), I've heard about high HOA's, but I've also heard good things. So anyone out there live there? Anyone know a bit more about what it's like living there? Thanks in advance! |

Well as a resident of this side of town (i assume you are talking about stoneybrook west) we love it. Our daughter is 7 and now going into 2nd grade and we are very happy with her schooling The new shopping center is fab and i usually take clients when im showing properties over there aswell because it is a huge selling point. Plus proximity to 429/turnpike makes access anywhere fantastic.

I think they are referring to Stoneybrook east in relation to Oviedo and crossing the county line.

I have to admit, I'm not sure if it was East or West. The one we were shown was right next to Avalon Park's downtown area...

Ah, okay. Stoneybrook East.. thanks!
Ideally, I'm hoping to find something in Oviedo or Winter Springs, but it's proving to be a bit tough. Our requirements are a 4 (or 5)/ 2.5 (or 3) home thats at least 2350 sq feet, in the range of 250 to 300(ish). We've found a few, but most seem to be very cookie cutter kind of houses. Winter Springs and Oviedo seem to be more of what we're looking for. We're still looking (as is our agent) , but the home we found in Stoneybrook is an interesting opportunity, and while I like the house, I'd like to know more about the area around it before I say yay or nay ![]() |

Hi - my husband and I too are considering Stoneybrook, but have recently been hearing more about Winter Springs (though we would like a gated community and not sure of any in that area). I really like Stoneybrook, but you are so right about the cookie cutter houses.Have you gotten any info on the area? If so, would you mind sharing what you have found? We live in NY and doing research on very short trips to orlando and whatever we can find on the internet. Much appreciated!

I would say to keep looking in Oviedo. Seminole county has a much better reputation for schools.
