My husband and I are moving to Florida and we like 2 houses. One is in Magnolia point and the other in Regency Hills - does anyone know anything about these communities in Clermont?

Both communities offer the similar cookie cutter style homes you find in central fla. In that area of clermont i think it's close to 27 and 50 .. but i might be wrong ... there tons of new shopping with a new mall being built." clemont landing" but there super target , a new super wal-mart .. another new shopping area a few miles away in winter garden.
The traffic is just horrendous |

Clermont is quite a nice area and the other poster is correct, in CFL you will find pretty much cookie cutter homes. Traffic does tend to be quite harsh in the immediate area. If you havent already checked out homes, and without knowing your budget and size requirements, i would suggest areas of Winter Garden/Windermere. For example i live in Windermere but we have a Winter Garden postal address so we get all the benefits of Windermere with the tax bill and home pricing of Winter Garden (which is lower in price). Also access is fantastic because of the Turnpike/429/408 access making it easily accessible anywhere. Also in terms of schooling we have a 7year old princess and we are very happy with schooling. The area may provide an alternative if Clermont doesnt work out great for you, however Clermont is a nice area.

Traffic is horrible everywhere in Clermont. Magnolia Pointe is closer to the turnpike which is nice if you will be going to Orlando often. Regency Hills is closer to 27 and 192. I agree, they are both cookie cutter developments. I have been to homes in both subdivisions. Magnolia Pointe is a "richer" neighborhood and gated with a gate attendant. The homes in both neighborhoods went up very quickly but they are nice.

We've now lived in Clermont for 2 months. We moved from Atlanta. I think traffic is all a matter of perspective. The traffic here in Clermont is heavenly compared to Atlanta!!! We have yet to come across bad traffic compared to what we are used to. Clermont seems nice, we are here temporarily until our house is built in Monteverde--but it does seem a bit isolated--lots of new businesses going up on 27 and 50 though, but the nearest mall is more than 15 miles away from where we live. But the pace is so much slower than metro Atlanta, we are liking it so far!
