It all comes down to this; if you like heat and humidity then come to Florida. If you don't, maybe Florida is not for you. It is common sense.

Yeah it kind of funny when people make their observations and think why is it so hot and humid... why are the jobs so bad... why is there so much crime... why are there bugs... lizards...? People should read more about Florida before moving here if they have no understanding of life here. I did think myself that Florida would be more like California than it is, but I had most things figured out before moving here because I do not like unpleasant surprises. It is not for everyone. This forum has definitely taught me this! I love it here though!

Hey Silence Dogood, you forgot about no bookstores downtown. I mean how many alternate accounts do you have to create for your little Orlando bashing mission? Well we've addressed all this before, but just curious where is your perfect place to live? I mean I grew up in Boston, and the summers aren't even that much hotter than up there. And outside of Southern California you have either very hot summers or very cold winters. Mid May to Mid October it is hot & humid, but honestly I don't find it that bad. I was just in Charlotte for a week and felt like my skin was going to burn off. It was actually a relief to get back down here. And outside of mid-May to mid-October you have probably the best weather anywhere. I've lived pretty much all over the country, everywhere has it's pros and cons, but for me Orlando is my favorite place to live. Don't believe the exaggerations written by a few (and some cases one person over and over again) discontented people.

Winter Park is a very nice area. There are a number of rentals due to the proximity of Rollins College and Central Florida University. If you are working at Universal you also might want to look at areas like Silver Lake, Bella Notte in Viscaya, Sand Lake Cove, Sand Lake Point. There are a number of really nice areas near Universal and some great condos such as the Phillips Bay,Bay Hill Sanctuary and there are great schools in and around this area. Moderator cut: ..
