Recently, there was a blood drive in a high school near Orlando. of the 75 students that donated, 15 learned they were HIV +. It seems this is something that needs to be discussed in the schools as young people do not understand how at risk people are when they have sex. I grew up prior to a time sex was dangerous behavior I have had friends who died and learned the dangers and what not to do. It is horrific this education has been lost on the youth. I strongly feel sexually active teenagers should never hear they are positive. Talk to your kids and speak early, before it is too late. ignoring the topic could put your child at risk. Talk, make it known they can tell you whats going on. open the communication up. Aren't they worth it?

Is there some documentation on those numbers? Can you post a link?

On Orlando Sentinel there is an Article about "what danger are your kids in?" and it talks about the STD rates among teenagers in Orange county that may substantiate the information.

One of the issues in schools is that a lot of kids cant past the FCAT and thats a test that everybody have to take in order to go to the next grade and they have like 6 times to take it and if they keep failing then they can not go to the next grade.....
