Is this true ???
I thought PINE HILL is as ghetto as you can get...
but on the news today...
The news anchor (channel 9) said "there is a shooting today at a UPSCALE section of Pine Hill"...I was like ....WTF ???UPSCALE ???

What was the section they are referring to? Are there details in the article? It is not upscale to me! The only thing I can think of is that there are some nice areas in the Pine Hills/Clarcona/Ocoee overlap and there are some nice areas just outside College Park in Fairview Shores or Lake Orlando that could be considered nice. They may also think Pine Hills is the nicer of the bad areas since it is mostly single family homes in established areas.... it is not nice though *shudders*

Can you give me a little info on the N.hiawassee area because i am supposed to move in a complex over there called Alta Westgate. It's also by silver star Rd and the area code is 32818.

Pine Hills is to Orlando what Dorchester is to Boston. In general it's not the greatest area but because it's such a large area/neighborhood there are some nice pockets on the fringes of Pine Hills. I was shocked to discover there are mansions and upscale blocks in Dorchester which is widely considered the "hood" of Boston. I guess there are nice parts of Pine Hills too, but overall I wouldn't recommend it unless you really know the neighborhood.

You are right because there are some nice pockets in there, but it is very risky as nicer areas exist and in greater number north of there and on the other side of I-4.
Some of the areas that may be nicer are along Clarcona-Ocoee and Lake Orlando.

Where that poster is asking about the apts on the corner of hiawasse and silver star is a crap area.
There are some quieter areas of pine hills but that is not one of them. As a guideline forget anything off hiawasse, silver star and pine hills road and around the north lane area.
If it is along silver star forget it.
