The taxes are addressed later in the post and were not included with the P and I data in the first question. However, you are correct when property tax is added in the total mortgage would be in the 2200 range. That is for the full $300K. I would hope most people would have a significant down payment and therefore not finance 100% of the cost of the home.

This Thread is great.
I calculate the cost yearly and found it between $45,500 - 47,500 / year, if I assume that fedral tax will be 22% then this means you will need an income between $58 - 60K / year.
I think this number is very consistent with most cities in US (except the huge one like NY, LA)

So I just wonder why some consider Florida expensive, Did I run wrong numbers?

Those $58 - 60K a year jobs are not that easy to come by in the Orlando area, even with a Master's Degree. That is why some consider Florida expensive.

Plus, there are other expenses to consider in Orlando. Tolls, Daddy Yankee concerts, etc. Sorry, had to throw that out there

Unless you are a two income family...which most people I know are no matter where they live anymore.....
