Default Poinciana

I have heard some bad/good things about Poinciana. $1000/month for 4-5 bedroom houses seems to be good, but doesn't it seem to good to be true? I assume the commute to the Orlando area is a pain since there aren't any major roads to I-4. How is the a.m. traffic conditions on eastbound I-4 going towards downtown area? Would it still be a decent area to live in, or would it be better to move just north of Orlando. I heard alot of praises for Maitland, Lake Mary area, etc...

I live in Poinciana. If you work in Orlando, the commute is gonna be a bit of a pain. Mostly because of the distance. Since the price of gas went up, traffic isn't nearly as bad as it used to be.

It's a nice place to live depending on where you are. My street is quiet, with nice neighbors and really no problems, but it's not the case everywhere. Look at the area where you'll be renting, and trust your gut. If something doesn't feel right about that street, skip it.

$1000 for a 4-5 bedroom is a bargain if you dont mind living next to gang members and you will be so far out that you cant even get local television stations. Stay away from Poinciana.

^^^ Ditto. Havent heard good things about Poinciana either. Basically, Oviedo, Winter Springs and Lake Mary are still nice. Almost all towns in Orlando metro area has problems tho.

Are we exaggerating a little?

The reason why is so cheap is because of the over supply of homes.

Here is the thing. I will be driving by this town both day AND night to check things out for myself around the 2nd week of August. Hopefully I will be able to rent a Audi A4 cabrio so if you Poinciana people see someone driving around at night, it will be me. Like I said in another forum, crime is everywhere, even a block away from my house. However, we have been safe, thank GOD.....

My sister lives in the Polk side and takes the back roads to 27 and gets on 1-4 from there. She works near Sea World and its not a bad drive. She also shops in Winter Haven because of the better selection of shopping and the less crowded stores. I spend plenty of time there and it really is not that bad. The further into Polk the better IMO.
