It's not that hard getting a job here, but the pay may be pretty low. The pay will be higher in California, but lodging will also be more expensive. It's up to you.

If you already have an "Employment Authorization visa that lets us live and work there for 6 months" why do you need to get an additional employment authorization? It sounds like you're all set. I've never heard of that type of visa, what is it called if you don't mind?

Pass on Florida and head out to California. They have a milder climate and prettier area's to look at than orlando, if you go to the coast. More money for employment as the cost of living is higher as are the taxes, gas, food, etc, etc.
Enjoy your stay

Working for cash in a small business would be the other way. There are alot of illegal aliens in this country working that way. The only problem with that is the jobs they take are not very good. ( landscapng, construction, some small restaurants, etc).

B1 and B2 visitor visas

Business travelers may enter the United States using a B1, or 'Visitor for Business' Visa. While in the US as a business visitor, an individual may:
  • Conduct Negotiations
  • Solicit sales or investment
  • Discuss planned investment or purchases.
  • Make investments or purchases
  • Attend Meetings, and participate in them fully.
  • Interview and hire staff.
  • Conduct research.
The following activities require a working visa, and may not be carried out by business visitors:
  • Running a business.
  • "Gainful employment".
  • Payment by an organization within the US.
__________________________________________________ ________

a B1 does not entitle you to work for payment, you need to be very careful as the nice man at immigration will ask you some questions.
1. How long are you planning on staying for sir?
2. Six months huh, and do you have sufficient funds for that time?
3. No? and you also applied for authorisation to work that was denied?
4. Did you enjoy the flight over ?
5. thats good because you are going straight back...........

and if that happnes bang go your chances of going again legally as there is a little question on the I94W-'have you ever been denied a visa?'. Answer that yes and the door closes very quickly.

Like people have suggested you need to get some proper legal advice before setting of on what could be a very short costly and fruitless trip.

Can't see how they'd entertain an application anyway without a jolly good reason for doing so. B1s & 2s seem to be declined quite readily for young adults of working age, as I think in their view the VWP suffices (and any longer sets the intent-to-immigrate alarm bells ringing).
